International colloquium on Indigenous and tribal studies
Jointly organised with Center for Indigenous and Colonial Studies, National University of Jujuy, Argentina
10 September 2024, 4:15 pm
The colloquium arises from the endorsed collaboration between the Research Unit at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Jujuy, the Center for Indigenous and Colonial Studies (CEIC) with the Centre for Tribal Studies (CTS) directed by Prof. Soumendra Mohan Patnaik from the Department of Anthropology, University of Delhi. There is a need to "know" and exchange the scientific concerns on Indigenous and tribal studies within the global south, a category that is not only cultural but also of scientific policy, as it positions the social sciences and humanities in a constructive and significant contribution to the local context within an international context.
Therefore, the objective of this colloquium is to disseminate and discuss the progress of research by graduate students linked to both institutions, building an open and plural space at the local level to promote the discussion about social studies and humanistic studies in the region and contributing to the erudition of graduate students of Humanities and Social Sciences.
